Family of Electrical Equipment, Product Family

A family of electrical equipment is equipment that shares basic electrical characteristics and material composition that may differ in dimensions, colour or other aspects. Because of these shared characteristics, the family is able to be covered by a single test report under the relevant standard. In this case, a single registration in the EESS is sufficient to cover all models in the family.

The intent of family grouping is to reduce registration costs for suppliers by only requiring a single registration in the EESS.
